Bashcon Code of Conduct

Bashcon is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all attendees, guests, volunteers, vendors, and staff. We expect everyone to treat others with respect and to help us create a positive, enjoyable experience for the entire community.

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and courteous to all attendees, guests, staff, and vendors.

  • Follow all event rules, venue policies, and staff instructions.
    Keep language and behavior appropriate for a family-friendly environment (unless clearly designated otherwise).

  • Respect personal space and boundaries — always ask before touching, photographing, or recording someone.

  • Help keep our spaces clean and accessible for everyone.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment of any kind, including unwanted physical contact, stalking, or verbal abuse.

  • Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other protected status.

  • Disruptive, unsafe, or illegal activities.

  • Damage to venue property, vendor goods, or personal belongings.

  • Bringing prohibited items as outlined by venue policy or local laws.

Consequences

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal warnings

  • Removal from the event without refund

  • Notification to venue security or local law enforcement, if necessary

Bashcon reserves the right to take any action needed to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please contact a Bashcon staff member immediately.
You can also report incidents by:

  • Visiting the Staff Table during event hours

  • Emailing UtBashcon@utoledo.edu

  • Speaking directly with a designated Safety Coordinator

All reports will be handled respectfully and confidentially to the fullest extent possible.
